Heavy tanning to pages with sticker residue to front endpaper and pastedown. Both hinges are cracked with exposed netting and cracks to guttering with exposed netting with tape to frontis and heavier tanning to text block edges. Binding is loose. Boards have visible rubbing and notable bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends and visible tanning to spine.

Cloth soiled, with small prev owner's sgn, spine darkened, 1/2 inch chip at head, foot frayed, corners bumped, with cardboard exposed there. Internally, front and rear hinges cracked, pencil sgn on fep, and pencil underline on half-title. Text age tanned, a few small chips on edges of endpapers, several dogears; overall, a decent enough, servicable copy. Adventures in colonial India a la Kipling.
