Board is straight, tips are sharp, spine ends lightly bumped and there is a small light soil spot on foot of frt board and just a touch of sunning at periphery. Original, un-clipped glossy, photo-illustrated dust jacket has a bit of light soil at head of white background dj panels and spine. There is some neatly executed highlighting in chapters 1-5, remainder of 191 pp text is flawless. Short author bios along with b/w photo of each is on rear dj panel. Both authors are from Oregon, USA. Patricia Ingram has trained horses in various disciplines and has written about them in major equestrian magazines. Lewis Hollander, Jr. has ridden 6000 miles in endurance competition and is second in the all-time mileage standings (as of 1981). He was national reserve champion in 1973, has won 14 races, and received 14 best conditions. Includes 13 chapters all about choosing, conditioning, gear needed, competitions, etc plus four Appendixes, Bibliography and index.
