Mark Sperring fell in love with books after reading Gobbolino, the Witch’s Cat as a child. For many years Mark worked in a storeroom unpacking boxes of books before finally writing some of his own. Mark currently lives in Bristol.

Daddy Grizzle finds different ways of distracting Little Pip; finding their Christmas tree, writing and delivering their holiday cards, wrapping presents. A spread with dark blue text on black background with just the white of someone's eyes visible perfectly illustrates Little Pip's surprise and joy when the big day finally arrives.
