The year was 1680. The county was split into two, the rich and the very poor. while the rich lived in complete opulence and feasting, the poor were lucky to avoid starvation. In a small village called Wellwood a young girl lived with her parents and two brothers in a cold damp cottage. One day an old women comes to her door and although she knows she shouldn`t, she invites her into get warm and dry. she befriends this old women and finds her at an old tumble down mansion called Rookwood. the women teaches her to embroider and then after a bad winter Elinor returns to Rookwood only to find the house and the old women had vanished, or have they things are not what they seem to be.
