By the age of 19, Micky Moody had left home twice, recorded two LPs for the famous Island label, fathered a child, and formed bands with Paul Rodgers (Free) and Bruce Thomas (Elvis Costello).
Raised in Northern England in the fifties, music represented a way for a working class lad to escape further education. With gritty wit and self-deprecating humour, Moody takes us to grotty hotels, moves to London and endless changes of line-ups in a battle for recognition.
Anyone with aspirations of playing in a band for a living will empathise with this romp through the days when rock was young and innocent.
