Just as in her Daddy Makes the Best Spaghetti (Clarion, 1986), Hines portrays a loving family and home which should be comforting to small children. Because Emily looks younger than three and the eloquent text is quite simple, this book is probably more suitable to children on the lower end of the age range. Ages 3-6.
