Even with his great commercial success, Tennessee Williams always considered himself an experimental playwright. She is author of The Politics of Reputation: The Critical Reception of Tennessee Williams' Later Plays as well as essays for Modern Drama, TDR, Études Théâtrales, The South Atlantic Review, The Tennessee Williams Annual Review, and The Undiscovered Country: The Later Plays of Tennessee Williams. Her book Contemporary American Drama was published by Edinburgh University Press in 2007.
