Victorian London: As the world mourns the demise of fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, Conan Doyle has a new preoccupation, as a chance encounter sets him on the trail of a brutal killer targeting suffragettes. Together with Bram Stoker, he roams the streets of Victorian London searching for clues. Modern-day New York: Literary researcher Harold White's lifelong obsession with Sherlock Holmes turns into something far more sinister. The world's leading Doylean scholar is found murdered, and only Harold is familiar enough with the Holmes novels to recognise the clues the killer has left. Clues which will lead him not only to a murderer, but also to the mystery of Conan Doyle's missing diary – and a secret that Conan Doyle risked everything to hide...

About the Author:
Graham Moore is a writer for film and television. He is currently a staff writer on the television show 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, and is also writing the feature action-comedy ID THEFT for Charlize Theron, who is set to produce and star. Graham was born and raised in Chicago, the son of a criminal defense attorney and a political lawyer. His mother, Susan Sher, worked for the mayor when Graham was growing up, and she is now Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama. He now lives in Los Angeles. The first book he ever read from start to finish, in 2nd grade, was Agatha Christie's A MURDER IN THREE ACTS, and he has been obsessed with mystery stories ever since. THE HOLMES AFFAIR, his first novel, is the product of this life-long need to know who-done-it.
Review:
"The Sherlockian [Holmes Affair] is a brilliantly executed must-read for all admirers of historical fiction, Sherlock Holmes and intellectual mysteries. Engrossing, suspenseful and fast-paced, this debut novel manages to be both highly original as well as deeply reverential to its literary sources. It's difficult to find a new spin on Sherlock Holmes, but Graham Moore has pulled it off with flying colors" -- Matthew Pearl "The Sherlockian is a well-written, fast paced and completely engaging homage to the legacy of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, in which an intriguing dose of literary history never stands in the way of an exciting present-day mystery." * Scott Turow, author of Presumed Innocent *
