Life happens around us and we sometimes forget to simply enjoy the moments as they pass us by. As a father of nine children, I feel that I have seen just about everything life can deal one person. Frustration, satisfaction, success, failure, broken relationships, restoration, anger, forgiveness, laughter, and tears all in a single day. "Let's Ask Dad" is a compilation of stories that come from the perspective of a father who is trying to be the best in all he does without losing sight of what is most important in life. The stories are from life experiences within the family and from the students who pass through a classroom lugging their own baggage and expectations. Thought provoking moments and anecdotes in time are captured and pondered over to bring encouragement, hope, and joy to those who feel they are toiling through life alone.

About the Author:
Billy Hopkins was born in Texas and spent the next thirteen years moving from place to place about every three years. He made seven school changes in his first seven years of his education which includes three moves during third grade. That was just the way of life for the son of a motivated father who constantly strived to make a better life for his family. Billy was often frustrated as a child, having to constantly make new friends while struggling to leave old friends behind. However, it was that constant adaptation that molded him into the person he is today. The son of two committed parents who were high school dropouts themselves, yet driven by honesty, integrity and hard work, Billy learned the values they instilled in him and looked at the world as opportunities waiting to happen. After spending nearly 30 years working in retail grocery, the insurance industry, and entrepreneurship, he walked away and returned to college to become an educator. Although he had been successful in every part of his working life, he felt like there was a constant nagging question, "Was he making a difference?" As a seasoned educator, he now brings a unique energy and real world application to his classroom. Believing that learning should be fun, Billy Hopkins challenges his students to believe in themselves, think outside the box, and remain willing to make mistakes in a safe environment. Billy is the father of nine amazing children, four girls and five boys. He and his wife Anne, also an educator, now reside in Alabama.
