From School Library Journal:
Grade 7-12-- A straightforward, no-nonsense introduction to the scope and sequence of U. S. involvement in World War II. Events are covered chronologically from the attack on military installations in Hawaii to the Japanese surrender. The black-and-white photographs vary in quality, size, and familiarity and are presented in a workable layout that balances the readable text with the accompanying visuals. A helpful listing of ``Memorable Dates, 1933-1946'' is included, along with a good two-part bibliography that lists further reading. There is nothing exceptional here, but the book does provide the bare-bones details and facts. It may serve as a good starting point for students wishing to learn more about the subject. --David A.
