About the Author:
David Bird is recognised as the world's leading humorous bridge writer. He is also a bridge player of distinction and is the bridge critic of the Mail on Sunday, the Evening Standard and the Glasgow Times. He lives in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. Ron Klinger is a leading international bridge teacher and has represented Australia in world championships since 1976. An Australian Grand Master and a World Bridge Federation International Master, he has written over fifty books, some of which have been translated into Bulgarian, Chinese, Danish, French, Hebrew and Icelandic. He has created many new bridge ideas and devised a number of conventions. He lives in NSW, Australia.

What began as a series of columns in a Sydney, Australia, newspaper has become a wonderfully entertaining book - a tribute to the talents of two of bridge's best writers. Australia's Klinger created the Rabbi, the central figure in the book, but did little to develop his character because of space restrictions in the newspaper. England's Bird was recruited to expand the articles into episodes. The result is a terrific blend of humor and bridge. Each of the seven bridge deals is at the very least instructive.
