About the Author:
Kazumi Yumoto lives in Tokyo, Japan. Her first novel, The Friends, won numerous awards, including the Boston Globe--Horn Book Award and the Mildred L. Batchelder Award. Cathy Hirano has translated several books for young readers, including The Friends. She was born in Canada and now lives in Japan.
