From Publishers Weekly:
Described by Day ( The Whale Wars ) as "an encyclopedia of ecological activism," this book provides a comprehensive survey of battles on many fronts: animal trafficking, murders of environmentalists, the Greenhouse Effect, antinuclear and animal-rights groups, biological and chemical warfare. what are these?/you got me, but presumably the bizarre is meant to explain;I've eliminated.gs Many topics will be familiar to readers who follow environmental issues, but there is fresh material in reports of pig bombs, trackerstet?/stet.gs cockroaches, nuclear whales. Day also describes efforts to save endangered species; of special interest are chapters focusing on the peregrine falcon and the dodo tree. Most of the pieces are brief. A list of groups engaged in the battles would have been helpful.

From Library Journal:
Day provides capsule overviews of today's major environmental controversies, from animal liberation to the bombing of the Greenpeace vessel Rainbow Warrior . Because he tries to stuff so much into less than 300 pages, Day provides only a cursory overview of each episode. Most are two to three pages and often leave the reader wanting more. Still, many of Day's stories are thought-provoking and downright infuriating; his accounts of the mistreatment animals receive during cosmetics testing and of the needless slaughter of endangered species for their feathers or tusks are particularly galling. Others, like the story of the Japanese regiment decimated by a crocodile-infested swamp, are simply bizarre. For public libraries.
